Mar 1 - Like A Child

Moses receives more commands to give to Israelites and the punishments for blasphemy of the Name of the Lord with a curse......stoning to death! Anyone who takes another person's life must also be put to death. Anyone who injures another person must be dealt with according to the injury inflicted. They can plant crops for six years but the seventh year is a Sabbath year so they can't plant crops. They must count off seven Sabbath years, seven sets of seven years adding up to forty-nine years in all. Then on the Day of Atonement in the fiftieth year, blow the ram's horn loud and long throughout the land. Set that year apart as holy a time to proclaim freedom throughout the land for all who live there. It will be a jubilee year for you when each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors and return to your own clan. This fiftieth year will be a jubilee for you. The Lord promises that if the people follow his decrees and obey his regulations then the land will yield large crops, and they will eat their fill and live securely in it.
Man there were a lot of rules and specific too. He dabbles in a little real estate today also. Rules regarding the sale of land and houses and returning it back to the original owners during the year of jubilee. They can purchase male and female slaves, they can purchase children of temporary residents who live among them.

In the new testament Jesus gets angry with the disciples when they try to keep the kids away from Jesus. "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." Well then I'm a shoe in for acting like a child is my specialty! It does say....hmmmmm anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God acting like a child will never enter it...I'm in!
